about

Originally titled, In Other Words, there are few songs that carry the same prestige as Fly Me to The Moon. It was composed by Bart Howard in 1954 and originally performed by Felicia Sanders. The song has been recorded numerous times but it was Frank Sinatra’s 1964 recording of Quincy Jones’ arrangement, where Jones changed the original 3/4 waltz time into a 4/4 swing feel, that sent the song into orbit. Fly Me To The Moon was played by the Astronauts of Apollo 10 on their lunar-orbital mission and again by Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11) on the moon itself.
